Languedoc Light

I was inspired by the landscape in Beziers, Occitane, and by the gestural brushwork of Joan Mitchell, the painting's strokes to serve as a testament to the dynamism of nature. Splashes of yellow dance joyfully through fields. The blues—deep cerulean and soft turquoise—are calling from the waters of the nearby Mediterreanen.

The streaks of hot pink dare to stand out amidst the verdant greens and azure expanses. Splashes of color add a layer of excitement and spontaneity, beckoning the viewer. The brushwork is bold yet fluid, conveying a sense of movement that mirrors the summer winds. Strokes are sweeping and spontaneous, allowing the colors to blend seamlessly in some areas while contrasting in others. The energy is palpable, each stroke expressing my emotional connection to the landscape, a celebration of light, color, and spontaneity.

This large contemporary abstract invites the observer to step into a world where colors interact freely, where the boundaries of traditional representation dissolve. The yellows evoke warmth, happiness, or perhaps a sense of nostalgia for summers long past, while the blues could conjure feelings of calmness or introspection. The hot pink signifies a dash of wild creativity that refuses to be constrained.
